Rumford Fireplace

Custom Rumford fireplace using the Superior Clay throat system. Fireplace is eloquently built with a herringbone firebox.

What is a Rumford Fireplace?
It is a fireplace that was designed by Count Rumford over 200 years ago with the sole purpose of producing a very warm radiant heat into the room. It is often seen in many rooms in original Colonial homes built in the later part of the 1800s. It is a very clean burning fireplace as the smoke is burnt off as it goes through the narrow throat system.
